Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Climate and Natural Environment Funding & Investment Manager to join us.

Could you lead engagement with financial decision makers and funders across all sectors to stimulate investment in projects addressing the climate and ecological emergencies in the West of England?

We are looking for someone who can develop investment proposals and develop business cases. Someone who understands the sustainable energy, climate change and natural investment markets; who can commercially appraise opportunities, engage and negotiate effectively with investors and stakeholders in securing investment.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the West of England Climate and Ecological Strategy & Action Plan. The post-holder will lead financial contribution towards a viable pipeline of projects in decarbonising, adapting and supporting the natural environment across the West of England. Please see the attached Job Description for full details.

This is one of two environmentally focused Funding & Investment Managers the West of England Combined Authority is recruiting to. The other role being within the South West Net Zero Hub. The West of England Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Climate and Natural Funding & Investment Manager, to join the Environment team.

This is an exciting time to join the West of England Combined Authority. In the last year nearly three quarters of a billion pounds of new investment has been secured for the region. New plans are in place to deliver on Mayoral priorities to improve transport, skills and housing for our residents, take decisive action to tackle the climate emergency, and to support communities facing the cost-of-living crisis. There is a relentless focus on delivery to put the West of England on the map for regional, national and global success.

Led by the regional Metro Mayor, the West of England Combined Authority brings together three local councils, the Local Enterprise Partnership and works with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.

You will be a key player in leading our response to tackle the climate and ecological emergency. *A market supplement applies to this post, please contact us for more details. Please note the standard policy is to appoint at the bottom of the grade. A market supplement is 10% on top of the allocated salary for a period of 12 months
