Job Introduction
The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is looking to appoint a Democratic Services Officer, to join our Governance and Democratic Services team. The team is at the centre of activity at the Authority, we’re vital to making sure that decisions about the life of the region are taken properly and with democracy at heart.
Your key responsibilities in this pivotal role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor by:
- Supporting the work of the Combined Authority Committees, including the Audit and Overview and Scrutiny Committees
- Developing and maintaining systems which guide your colleagues through the democratic process
- Ensuring that legal and constitutional deadlines are met
- Completing committee cycle processes from start to finish
- Providing opportunities for members of the public to have their say and to attend important meetings which affect them
