Digital Connectivity Lead

Job Introduction

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Digital Connectivity Lead, to join the Strategy & Innovation Directorate. Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor by:

  • Delivering improved digital connectivity across the region – our aim is to make sure residents and local businesses can access the internet and the online services they need
  • Working in partnership with Councils, Telecoms Providers and Government to roll-out better broadband and mobile connectivity.
  • Making our region an attractive investment proposition and ensure that telecoms deployment is easy, fast and cheap for all involved
  • Securing additional resources and funding for digital infrastructure and adoption of new technologies

To be effective in this role you’ll need to be someone who has substantial knowledge of telecoms sectors and digital connectivity (fixed, mobile and wireless), and understands how Local Government can support the deployment of digital connectivity effectively to ensure residents have the connectivity they need. You will also be adept at collaborating across boundaries, building trusted delivery partnerships, and ultimately always focuses on outcomes.
