Turn strategy into action. Lead delivery that transform lives across the West of England
This is a rare opportunity to lead the delivery of transformative programmes and services across one of England’s most dynamic regions. As Director of Service Delivery, you will oversee the implementation of high-quality, joined-up services that bring the Combined Authority’s strategic ambitions to life. From climate action and nature recovery to enterprise and skills, you will ensure our delivery is responsive, purposeful and aligned with regional priorities.
You will provide strategic and operational oversight of programme and service delivery across the West of England, ensuring external services meet defined Service Level Agreements and deliver real impact. Working closely with the Director of Operations, you’ll align delivery with corporate standards and Mayoral priorities, championing effective service design across the Combined Authority.
Main Responsibility
As Director of Service Delivery, you’ll lead the implementation of high-quality programmes and services that bring the Combined Authority’s strategic ambitions to life. You’ll ensure our services are timely, joined-up and responsive to regional needs, delivering real value for the communities and businesses we serve.
You’ll oversee a large, multidisciplinary team and manage significant budgets and capital programmes. Alongside the Director of Operations and senior leaders, you’ll champion effective service design, resolve delivery challenges, and embed a culture of pace, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
You’ll also collaborate across the Chief Executive’s Corporate Leadership Team and engage stakeholders and partners to support delivery. Your leadership will be key in resolving delivery challenges, escalating risks, and managing budgets and resources effectively. You’ll feed insights back into commissioning and strategy functions, while fostering a culture of collaboration, pace, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
The Ideal Candidate
A collaborative leader, you bridge strategy and execution seamlessly and approach challenges with a systems mindset. With senior experience and demonstrable results in public service delivery, you know how to mobilise complex programmes and drive performance across diverse teams.
