Job Introduction
We are looking to recruit 4 talented project officers to join the West of England Combined Authority’s growing Environment Directorate.
This is an exciting time to join us. In the last year we have secured nearly three quarters of a billion pounds of new investment for the region; refreshed our Climate and Ecological Strategy and Action Plan; and expanded our environmentally focused Green Recovery Fund to £60m.
To help us and our region tackle the climate and ecological emergencies, we seek passionate people to progress four key work areas:
- Progress our Green Recovery Fund Governance, ensuring we get best value from our £60m fund through effective oversight and administration.
- Progress the concept of ‘heat from mines’, utilising c£1.6m funding we’ve earmarked to take this forwards
- Develop an approach of providing retrofit finance packages for homeowners seeking to improve the energy performance of their homes, utilising c£1.6m funding we’ve earmarked to take this forwards
- Progress our work on Nature Recovery and Partnerships
If you have experience of delivering work within relevant sectors, would like to join a collaborative team environment, and work with partners across the West of England and beyond – we want to hear from you!
