The West of England Combined Authority is looking for an Independent Member for the Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee is made up of councillors from Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council. In accordance with our commitment to strong governance the Combined Authority is also seeking to appoint an independent member.
WECA Committee on 16 June 2023, approved the remuneration for the role as £650 per annum.
Applications are invited from individuals with suitable professional experience, preferably either as a member of a Board or another Audit Committee or working at a senior level in their organisation.
The role of the Audit Committee is to provide independent assurance to the Combined Authority on its governance, internal control and risk management arrangements and to oversee the statutory financial reporting process. The Committee meets up to four times a year, and on an ‘exception’ basis as required.
