Procurement Business Partner

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

The West of England Combined Authority is evolving – and we need a Procurement team that can help us achieve our ambitions.

Our procurement journey has been an exciting one – we have moved from leading on small projects to being responsible for hundreds of millions of pounds of investment, in such wide-ranging areas as the future of regional transport, delivering adult education, and decarbonising the region to help us meet our ambitious target of net zero by 2030. But we can’t do this alone – we need to work with a range of partners and suppliers in the market, making sure that we are flexible enough to deliver against our ambitious agenda and timelines while ensuring that we are safe, compliant and adhere to the procurement regulations that rightly govern public expenditure.

This is where you come in. We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, experienced Business Partners to join us. You’ll be able to lead a small, matrix team, and you’ll have significant experience of managing a portfolio of procurement activity across a range of disciplines, combining your innovative approach with a commitment to ensuring value for public money. A confident communicator, you’ll have the credibility and tenacity to effectively manage a range of internal and external stakeholders, some of whom may be challenging and may not always agree with your approach. Ideally, you’ll be MCIPS qualified, but if not, you’ll need significant proven experience in the field, in roles at a similar level.

While anyone with a procurement background and transferable skills will be considered, we’re particularly looking for people with experience in one or more of the corporate services, infrastructure / transport, or education sectors.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! For an informal chat, please contact Alex Holly, Head of People and Assets, on 07815 592052, and to apply, please click below.
