Senior Environment Analyst

Job Introduction

We are looking for a creative and curious senior environment analyst to join the West of England Combined Authority. As part of a small team, you will be responsible for leading evidence to help shape our environmental projects. Your work will make a direct difference to tackling the climate and ecological emergencies, through understanding the challenges we face and identifying priorities for policy action. Your research will help to shape our response to the needs of the  environment in the region.

As well as being a rigorous analyst, you will be creative in building understanding of challenging issues, and proactive in developing partnerships with our stakeholders. You will be enthusiastic about supporting the region’s environmental and economic development, with experience of using evidence to drive policy decisions and knowledge of environmental data. This post is a fixed-term appointment, although we will be seeking to extend it with the right candidate if funding becomes available. We are also open to considering a secondment from other organisations.

The West of England Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a senior environment analyst to join the research and analysis team.

This is an exciting time to join the West of England Combined Authority. In the last year nearly three quarters of a billion pounds of new investment has been secured for the region. New plans are in place to deliver on Mayoral priorities to improve transport, skills and housing for our residents, take decisive action to tackle the climate emergency, and to support communities facing the cost-of-living crisis.
