Senior Funding Officer

Job Introduction

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with strong technical, analytical and communication skills to join the West of England Combined Authority as a Funding Officer in our Grant Management and Assurance Team.

The role will involve supporting the business case assurance processes related to the £540m City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement and some knowledge of transport projects and business case requirements would be advantageous.

This role offers the chance to progress your career whilst working closely with others both across the Combined Authority and our partners. You will join our dynamic Grant Management and Assurance Team in the Corporate Services Directorate, who are responsible for managing the funding arrangements for over 100 projects across 10 different funding streams.

To join our team, you will need to have great organisational skills, be able to manage and interpret data and be flexible and adaptable to respond to the varied tasks associated with the role. In return, we will help you grow your skills and knowledge as part of our lively team.

The West of England Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Funding Officer, to join the Grant Management and Assurance Team.

This is an exciting time to join the West of England Combined Authority. In the last year nearly three quarters of a billion pounds of new investment has been secured for the region. New plans are in place to deliver on Mayoral priorities to improve transport, skills and housing for our residents, take decisive action to tackle the climate emergency, and to support communities facing the cost-of-living crisis. There is a relentless focus on delivery to put the West of England on the map for regional, national and global success.

Led by the regional Metro Mayor, the West of England Combined Authority brings together three local councils, the Local Enterprise Partnership and works with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.
