Your key responsibility in this role will be to ensure a strong focus on delivering the priorities of the Mayor by supporting the delivery of housing, regeneration and place-based investment across the West of England. You will play a leading role in shaping commercially robust investment opportunities, helping to unlock growth, secure funding and deliver transformational outcomes for communities across the region.

We're looking for a dynamic, strategic and commercially astute investment professional who is passionate about housing delivery, regeneration and creating opportunities that drive sustainable economic growth. This is a unique opportunity to work on some of the region's most ambitious development and regeneration programmes, partnering with public and private sector organisations to turn vision into reality. This is a critical time in our transformation and growth journey, and you'll be pivotal in helping us achieve our ambitions by:

  • Developing innovative commercial structures, funding solutions and investment propositions to unlock delivery.
  • Ensuring investment opportunities are commercially robust, investment-ready and aligned to regional priorities.
  • Completing high-quality business cases, investment papers and governance submissions.
  • Providing expert commercial and financial advice to colleagues, partners and stakeholders across the region.

What you'll be doing

Are you someone who has advanced financial modelling expertise, strong commercial judgement, and ultimately always focuses on delivering positive outcomes through investment and partnership working?

As our Senior Investment Manager, you'll:

  • Lead on financial appraisal, risk analysis, sensitivity testing and commercial assessments for major housing and regeneration projects.
  • Support the progression of priority schemes from concept through to investment-ready propositions.
  • Work closely with local authorities, developers, Registered Providers, Homes England, investors and government partners.
  • Design funding approaches and capital structures that blend public and private investment.
  • Influence and advise on commercial negotiations, helping to ensure value for money and successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance on investment modelling methodologies across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the development of regional investment strategies and project prioritisation frameworks

What you'll bring

You'll be a highly experienced investment, finance or regeneration professional with a track record of developing commercially viable solutions for complex projects and programmes.

We're particularly interested in people who:

  • Hold a professional investment qualification such as CFA, CISI, CII or equivalent.
  • Have significant experience in investment appraisal, commercial structuring or financial analysis within housing, regeneration, infrastructure, real estate or public-sector investment.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of financial modelling, risk analysis and development viability.
  • Understand housing delivery, regeneration finance and public-sector investment frameworks.
  • Can translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable investment propositions.
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently to a wide range of audiences.
  • Build credibility quickly and develop strong partnerships across organisations and sectors.
  • Are proactive, highly organised and focused on delivering impactful results.

 Why choose us?

The Mayoral Combined Authority is at the heart of delivering growth, regeneration and housing ambitions across the West of England. You'll work alongside talented colleagues and influential partners to bring forward transformative schemes that make a lasting difference to communities across the region.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference by helping shape the future of the West of England. You'll work on high-profile, multi-million-pound investment programmes, influence strategic decision-making, and play a key role in securing the investment needed to deliver inclusive and sustainable growth.
