Senior Project Manager SW Net Zero Hub

Job Introduction

Due to an internal promotion we have an opportunity for a talented Senior Project Manager to join the South West Net Zero Hub.

The Senior Project Manager will lead a team focused on helping organisations to take action on the climate emergency by identifying and developing local energy projects across the South West.  You will maximise the range of skills within the team to ensure high quality support is provided across the SW Net Zero Hub area. 

You will also act as the first point of contact for local authorities and other stakeholders in a local area helping the to engage with our programmes and services, which are funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).   Our current shortlist of projects has a combined value exceeding £385m. 

Crucially, successful candidates will use their experience of managing people, project appraisal and development in the energy sector to offer high quality support throughout the development process including options assessment, feasibility, building the business case, initial design & planning to securing investment.  The post holder will work with a wider team of project and technical colleagues to deliver support.

The West of England Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager, to join the South West Net Zero Hub team.

This is an exciting time to join the West of England Combined Authority. In the last year nearly three quarters of a billion pounds of new investment has been secured for the region. New plans are in place to deliver on Mayoral priorities to improve transport, skills and housing for our residents, take decisive action to tackle the climate emergency, and to support communities facing the cost-of-living crisis. There is a relentless focus on delivery to put the West of England on the map for regional, national and global success.

Led by the regional Metro Mayor, the West of England Combined Authority brings together three local councils, the Local Enterprise Partnership and works with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.

You will be a key player in leading our response to tackle the climate and ecological emergency. You will be at the heart of developing net zero local energy projects across the wider south west of England.
