Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with excellent technical, analytical and communication skills to join the West of England Combined Authority as a Transport Planner in our Infrastructure Directorate.                                    

Working as part of our Transport Strategy Team, you will help deliver transport policy for the West of England city region, to progress towards a carbon-neutral transport network with high levels of public transport, cycling and walking provision and use. In particular, you will:

  • Help produce a new Joint Local Transport Plan;
  • Help deliver an ambitious package of bus, rail, park and ride, cycling and walking corridors across the city region; and
  • Help with the rollout of charging infrastructure for an increasing number of electric vehicles.

We are looking for candidates who have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and experience of helping to produce transport strategy documents, with a good understanding of national and local policy and legislation. A flexible, innovative approach is an essential requirement together with the willingness to respond constructively to challenge and opportunity and to be able to work alone or as part of a team.
