Job Introduction
We are offering an opportunity to play a central role in the work of the West of England Combined Authority as we support the region to tackle the Climate and Ecological crises.
As a Senior Environment Manager within the West of England Combined Authority’s Environment Directorate, the successful candidate will work flexibly across a range of priority environment topics. You will be expected to lead the delivery of our response to the ecological crisis across the organisation and the region, to deliver on the West of England’s Climate and Ecological Strategy and Action Plan.
You will have a broad knowledge of the national and regional Environment policy agenda, with a specialist knowledge of nature conservation and how to translate that into delivery.
Comfortable leading on a significant policy agenda, you will be able to use your strong negotiation and influencing skills to shape approaches for the region. The main purpose of this role will be to help safeguard, promote and enhance the rich biodiversity interests of the region. The role will report to the Head of Environment and will play a role in helping to shape the new directorate. It will act as the lead on Nature Recovery for the Combined Authority, working in close partnership with delivery teams across our business and skills and infrastructure teams, ensuring environmental outcomes are integral to the delivery of our work.
